We meet at the train station in Zernez. By post bus we drive over the Ofenpass to Mals in the upper Vinschgau. From Mals to Schlinig we take a ski bus. From here we continue with skis and skins. We ascend through the valley, past the Schliniger Alm to below the black wall. We avoid this rock barrier, the black wall, on the right side of the valley and after about two hours we reach the Sesvenna hut, which is our starting point for the next day.
In the afternoon we do a small ski tour or an educational training depending on mood, weather and conditions.
The ascent to the Sesvenna Pass begins just behind the hut. When we reach the Sesvenna Pass, we have a wonderful view of our summit goal today. After a short descend we climb over the small Vadret da Sesvenna up to the foot of the east ridge. Here we leave our skis and continue to the summit with crampons. We can enjoy a wonderful panorama of the summit during our break before we descend the beautiful powder snow slopes of the Sesvenna glacier.
To get back to the Sesvenna hut over the Fuorcla da Sesvenna we need to undertake another small ascent.
On the last day we have several possibilities to get back to Switzerland. We choose the best option depending on the weather, conditions and physical condition. One possibility is the ascent to the Fuorcla da Rims with a long descent to Scuol.
