Piz Linard Southeast Ridge
We meet shortly before dinner at the Linard hut, the Chamonna Linard. The hut is a newly built SAC hut in traditional style. It is maintained during the summer by members of the "Secziun Engiadina Bassa" of the SAC, who work for the benefit of the club and the guests without any compensation.
The Piz Linard is the highest mountain of the Silvretta. Today we want to climb it over the beautiful southeast ridge. Most of the time we will be all alone here and only at the summit will we meet the climbers from the normal route again. We either reach the ridge shortly after the hut and take the Linard Pitschen to the summit (a bit longer and more challenging) or follow the normal path up to 2800 meters. Here we exit it to the right and climb through a long rocky slope up to the ridge. We enjoy the view over the whole Engadin up to the glaciated peaks of the Bernina range. An easy climb now leads us up to the summit Steinmann.
The descent is over the normal path.
