Meeting point with the mountain guide probably in the evening for dinner at the Sasc Furä Hut.
In early summer 2019, a new hut trail to Capanna Sasc-Furä was opened up, as the hut trail via Val Bondasca is no longer passable since the landslide on the Cengalo. The new trail is well marked in white-blue-white, longer and more demanding, but well secured in exposed places. It follows old trail tracks on the western side of the Val Trubinasca, where it meets the trail from the Trubinasca pass to the Sasc Furä hut. The entire length of Val Bondasca was buried by a landslide on the Cengalo on August 23, 2017: The old hut access through the Val Bondasca is closed and no longer passable!
After breakfast we hike in headlamp light towards the entrance, soon leaving the last larches behind us and soon reach the place where we rope up over granite slabs and boulders. A few slabs and steps lead us to the beginning of the north edge. From here, the northeast wall looks really imposing. We now descend briefly and then traverse over a rocky ledge to the entrance of the Cassin route. Exciting climbing leads us over slabs, intersections and cracks through the 800 meter high rock face. Shortly before the summit we reach the north edge and climb over it still quite high.
From the summit we descend via the normal route (the south face) to the Gianetti Hut. After a short refreshment we continue our descent immediately to Bagni del Masino. The cab takes us back to Bondo.
