Saturday
Basics of avalanche science and rescue
The first day is very much focused on the basics of avalanche science. The short theoretical models are immediately put into practice in the field. The main topics are interpretation of the avalanche bulletin, assessment of snowpack construction, rescue and tour planning. The tour planning we do the same for the tour the following day.
Sunday
PRACTICAL TOUR
Today is a small practical tour on the program. Throughout the tour, we have plenty of time to review the terrain, route selection and lane layout, as well as risk-reducing tactics on the ascent and descent.
Skills
No prior knowledge required, suitable for beginners, but also as a refresher.
However, good technique on the slopes with skis or snowboard is required.
