Activities & Workshops

Ski Tour Beginners

Beginner Ski Tour with a climb of 600 – 800 meters of elevation. This can be your first ski tour experience where you will work on building different skills for back country skiing including kick turns. Join us for a fun day with new experiences.

Ski Tour Advanced

Ski tour with a climb of 1000 – 1200 meters of elevation. For the Skimountaineering workshop you should already have ski touring experience and be able to do kick turns. You are a good off-piste skier and are able to ski a slope in good snow conditions without falling.

Freeride Intro

Off-piste skiing with the possibility of short ascents with skins, after a ride to the top of the lift, to find the best snow on the mountain. You should have some experience of skiing in ungroomed terrain and are able to ski easy slopes without falling. A little endurance for the short ascents is needed. Ski pass is not included in the costs.

Snowsafety / Avalanche Rescue

Snowsafety and avalanche rescue training for everybody with little or no experience. The day is set up with short theory lessons and a lot of time spent outdoors practicing what you just learnt. The focus is mainly on the interpretation of the avalanche bulletin, recognizing the typical avalanche problems, evaluating the terrain and the rescue in case of an emergency.

Off-piste Ski Technique

Do you want to improve your Off-piste skiing? With specific exercises on-piste and off-piste, we’ll work on your personal technique. Fun will not be missed. Ski pass not included in the costs.

Snowshoeing

A day in a winter wonderland. Explore the wintery mountains and forests of the Engadin by foot. For the snowshoe tour, you need to bring the endurance for a 2.5 hour hike. Depending on the tour you will climb about 300 to 400 meters of elevation.

Ice Climbing Beginner & Advanced

A day spent on vertical ice in the middle of Pontresina. Whether you are a complete beginner or already have experience, our guide will help you to improve your technique or introduce you to this mystical world of ice.

Nordic Skate Skiing

The Engadin is famous for its endless cross country slopes. Spend a day learning or improving your skate skiing technique. For beginners and advanced.

Horseback Trekking

A special experience in the beautiful nature of the Engadin. Together we clean and tack up the horses, ponys or donkeys and get to know them for the daytrip. For riders of any level.

The Youth Hostel Pontresina is right next to the train station in Pontresina. Don’t get misled by the name. Great budget place to stay.

Choose up to 2 of your favorite activities plus one more incase there is no place in your first options.
Which day you join the activities will depend on how many people sign up for it. We will set up the groups and send you your personal program before the Academy.
The participation fee of 120.- CHF does include 2 full day guided workshops, rental gear as well as a team dinner on Friday evening with local food specialities from the Engadin

All courses and tours are offered daily. All offers take place with at least 4 participants. The number of places is limited. Test equipment is included in the price.
